Podcast — Privacy Policy
Podcast is a desktop application for macOS, made and used by Shailendra Singh Rajawat to record his physics lectures and publish them on his own YouTube channel. It is not distributed to anyone else.
YouTube API Services
Podcast uses YouTube API Services. By using it you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's Privacy Policy applies to what YouTube receives: policies.google.com/privacy.
What it accesses
When its user signs in with Google (OAuth 2.0), Podcast can upload videos, thumbnails and captions to that user's channel, change the details of that user's videos and playlists, schedule that user's live broadcasts, and read that user's channel, uploads and playlists. With a separate Google Drive sign-in it can put a lecture's board notes (a PDF) into that user's Drive and share it by link; it can see only the files it made itself, nothing else in the Drive. It does not read or collect anything about viewers or other channels.
What it stores, and where
Only on the user's own computer: the sign-ins' refresh tokens in the macOS Keychain, and the IDs of the videos, playlists and files it created. Nothing from Google is sent to any server other than Google's. No data is sold or shared.
Deleting it
Sign out in Podcast, or remove access at myaccount.google.com/permissions— Podcast then holds no working access. The stored IDs are deleted by deleting Podcast's folder in ~/Library/Application Support.
